Frances “Maxine” Bowen, 80, of Twin Falls went to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on Tuesday, August 9, 2011. She died from complications of pulmonary fibrosis.
Maxine was born on February 28, 1931, in Twin Falls to Ollie and Ira McClimans, and attended schools in Twin Falls. She met Warren Gerald Bowen while he was working on her brother-in-law’s farm, and they were married on March 2, 1948. After their marriage, Warren enlisted in the Air Force, and she was able to travel with him to the bases where he was stationed. While he was in the Air Force, they lived in Cheyenne, Wyoming; Chicago, Illinois, and Newfoundland before returning to Twin Falls. They had two children, Gary Warren and Linda Sue. Gary Warren was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and died shortly after birth; Linda was born in Twin Falls. After Maxine and Warren returned to Twin Falls from his time in the service, her mother, Ollie, lived with them until her death.
Maxine worked at several different jobs over the years, but her favorite was being a homemaker, and an excellent homemaker she was. She took great pride in her home and was an immaculate housekeeper.
Maxine gave her heart to the Lord Jesus Christ at a very early age, and attended various Pentecostal churches throughout the valley. In later years, she took great pleasure in watching the Gaither Homecoming videos and was truly blessed by the music and the Spirit she felt from watching them. She loved her Lord with all her heart.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Bowen of Twin Falls; numerous nieces and nephews, and two sisters-in-law, Shirley Westphal and Verna Kellander, both of Minnesota.
Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, Warren; son, Gary Warren; her parents, Ollie and Ira; sisters Lorna Grimm, Florence Kimball, Mary Clemans, and Olive Gardner; brothers Howard McClimans, Ira “Bud” McClimans, Wayne McClimans, and Harold McClimans.
The family would like to thank Andrea and Michelle, home health nurses at Visions Home Health; and very special thanks go to Maria, Sue, and Dorinda of Visions Hospice for all their tender care and compassion in taking care of Maxine. They are truly angels.
