Everett Lloyd Aplet

March 10, 1939 — March 23, 2016

Everett Lloyd Aplet, 77, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2016 in Shoshone, ID after a long battle with cancer. He was born March 10, 1939 in West Fir, OR to Lloyd and Frances Aplet. He grew up in small towns in Oregon. He excelled academically throughout all of his schooling. He was a member of TAU BETA PI. Everett served in the U. S. Air Force becoming an electronics engineer as well as an instructor in that field. He was instrumental in creating repairs and advances in Air Traffic Control. He was an inventor. Other accomplishments included the development of Deep Water Pipe Laying which aided in underwater oil pipelines, Deep Water Heavy Lift Systems, the development of the Electronic Control Systems for the current windmills, and advances in Military Ordnance. He was a passionate and constant researcher with accomplishments years ahead of their time. His careers took him around the world which was another great adventure to him. He loved roller skating and then ice skating, concentrating on dance in each sport. Fishing and gardening were also occasional pastimes. Everett and Patty were married on February 29, 1976......yes, Leap Year! He gained an instant family; Patty's two young children, Rhonda and Scott. He became a positive influence in their lives. Architecture became another passion. He designed and built several unique, one-of-a-kind homes while living in the Pacific Northwest. Other job opportunities required a move to the deserts of Southern California. Upon retirement 25 years later he and Patty moved fulltime to Shoshone. He lived long enough to celebrate 40 years of marriage. Ten actual anniversaries.....yes, the Leap Year thing! Another goal accomplished. Everett was an extraordinary man who lived an extraordinary life. He will be greatly missed by his surviving family members and many friends. A celebration of his life will be held at the Golden Years Senior Center in Shoshone, ID on Saturday, April 23, from 2-4 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations for Cancer Research to MSTI at St. Luke's Hospital in Twin Falls in Everett's name would be appreciated. The address is MSTI at St.Luke's Hospital 725 Pole Line Road W. Twin Falls, ID 83301 Attn: Carol Springer His ashes rest on the wings of an angel, his soul with his creator.
