Euna Marie Rife, 85, of Eden, Idaho, went to meet her Heavenly Father on Friday February 6, 2015. Euna was born January 12, 1930 in Clarkridge, Arkansas, to Odaus and Myrtle Fitzpatrick. One of eleven children, Euna always knew the importance of family. Euna met the love of her life, Melvin Rife just before he left for World War II. Upon returning from the war, Melvin and Euna were married and started their family in Arkansas and then moved west. They chose the Magic Valley as their home and settled in, having a total of five children over the years. For many years, Euna worked at Ore-Ida in Burley, Idaho and Con-Ida Warehouse in Hazelton, Idaho; where she made many friends and great memories. Euna was always known to have a smile on her face, her door was always open and she never knew a stranger. Whether she was hosting a meal, spending time with her children and grandchildren or playing an all-night round of pinochle, family was at the heart of all she did. A talented seamstress, who also loved to cook and bake; many a meal were shared around her table and extended family and friends could always be found gathering for a summer fish fry. Euna was preceded in death by her husband, her mother and father, six brothers, one sister and two son-in-laws (Jim Rogers and Verl Rice). Euna is survived by two sisters and one brother, her children, Betty Rice of Eden, Carol Rogers (Bob) of Eden, Gayle Rogers of Menlo, Washington, Debra Kelso (Hal) of Eden and Jonathan Rife of Eden; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. An active member of the Church of Christ Euna had a long-standing relationship with her heavenly father. An amazing daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend; Euna touched the lives of all she met, and will be missed by all who knew her. A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday February 11, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Rosenau Funeral Home with inurnment to follow at 4:00 pm at the Hazelton Cemetery. Cremation was under the direction of Rosenau Funeral Home and Crematory. The family would like to thank Hospice Visions for their care and compassion.
