Elfrieda married John W. Herrmann on November 20, 1949. They moved to a farm at the Hunt Project near Eden, Idaho, where they raised five lively and adventurous children. In 2004, after the passing of her husband, Elfieda moved to Jerome to be closer to family. The last four years of her life she lived with one of her daughters in Twin Falls.
Elfrieda was on active member of the Eden Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed cooking and hosting large family gatherings. She was happiest while spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Elfrieda is survived by her sister Althea (Harry) Petersen, and brother Arlyn (Carolyn) Krohn, her five children, Jan Hunter, Sheryl (Bill) West, Tim Herrmann, Joel Herrmann and Kathy Cox.
Elfrieda is survived by 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and one great great granddaughter, all of whom knew her as “Grandma Cookie.”
Elfrieda was preceded in death by husband John, three brothers, one sister, and two grandchildren.
The family requests no flowers, but suggests memorials may be made to the Early Education Center at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Eden, Idaho. Services will be held at 2pm, Tuesday, April 26 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Eden. Services are under the direction of Rosenau Funeral Home.
