Douglas Wesley Larson

January 20, 1955 — December 15, 2016

Douglas Wesley Larson passed away at home while surrounded by his family on December 15, 2016 after a brief but courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Doug was born January 20, 1955 in Burley, Idaho. When he was very young, his family moved to Twin Falls where he attended schools and graduated from Twin Falls High School in 1974. He attended Ricks College for one year before starting a career with Idaho Power Company where he worked until his retirement April 1, 2016. On July 16, 1976, Doug married Tammy Casperson in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Doug and Tammy were blessed with three children – Ryan, Brandon and Rachelle. Doug enjoyed waterskiing, traveling, wood working, golf, working with his hands and just being outdoors. But he especially enjoyed spending time with his family – particularly his grandchildren. His happiest times were family activities. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where he served in various callings. He especially loved being a Boy Scout leader and had fond memories of his many campouts with them. He is survived by his wife, Tammy; his 3 children, Ryan (Brandy), Brandon (Lani) and Rachelle (Shelby); 5 grandchildren – Brennan Larson, Bailey Larson, McCoy Larson, Cooper Williams and Raelyn Williams; his brother John Larson (Cindy), and many extended family members. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Hazel Larson and his sister, Cheryl. He left us way too soon. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, December 20th at Rosenau Funeral Home from 6-8 PM. Services will be held on Wednesday December 21st at the 16th Ward LDS Chapel on Orchard Dr. at 11AM. Services are under the direction of Rosenau Funeral Home. Family and friends are encouraged to share their memories at www.rosenaufuneralhome.com
