Doris was born on March 28, 1930 to H.D. & Mary Olander in Martin, South Dakota. She moved to Idaho with her family when she was 10 years old. At an early age, Doris and her siblings worked topping and hoeing onions for Magic Valley farmers. On April 6, 1947, she married Don Achenbach in Buhl. They lived in the Buhl area until 2008 when they moved to Twin Falls. She was a member of the Calvary Assembly of God church in Buhl. She also milked cows and helped with sheep during lambing season. She made special designed quilts for family members. Family was the most important part of her life. When her husband started his own trucking and construction business, she was known to help pour concrete or assist in any way she could. And no one went hungry at Doris’ table, she always was able to make the food stretch for extra guests. In 1988, they began making annual trips to Quartzsite, AZ to enjoy the warm winter months. A big part of her life was camping and four wheeling in the South Hills for Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day. She and Don also went four wheeling in Arizona. Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Don, one son, Ray (Ethel) Achenbach, Kearns, UT and one daughter, Valerie (Kelly) Stigile, Hazelton, her twin brother, Dean Olander, Idaho Falls as well as brothers, Vernon (Shirley) Olander, Buhl and Frank (Bernie) Olander, Lewiston, one sister-in-law, Adene (Jim) Kimball, Buhl.
