Donna Lou Thornock, 65, of Twin Falls, formally of Boise, died unexpectedly, yet peacefully, on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 with her loving husband of 32 years by her side.
Donna was born on a wintery Tuesday on December 21, 1954 to George and Mynra McDougal in Caldwell, Idaho. She would gain two more loving parents who would love her as their own. Jack Gooch and Sally McDougal.
Growing up, Donna's parents instilled values of hard work, the importance of education, to live life fully and most importantly to love everyone with no bounds.
As a young child, she loved reading, visiting Warm Lake, swimming and killing slugs under the back porch with her friend Robbi, who would unknowingly become her brother in law years later.
During her school years, she enjoyed math and being in band where she played the clarinet. She spent her free time at the roller rink and her church youth group. She got her GED and went to ITT where she majored in accounting.
Donna spent most of her career working for State Farm Insurance as a receptionist. She took the values her parents instilled in her and worked hard with an impeccable work ethic.
Donna was blessed with 2 children from her first marriage, Geoff Lee and Sherri Lee McCoy. She would later be blessed with her last child, Mark Foust.
When she was 33, she met the love of her life, Jay Thornock, at a bowling alley. They soon married. The week they married they became husband and wife, stepparents and grandparents, one of her favorite stories to tell. She gained two more kids who she adored, Donnie and Melinda.
Jay and Donna spent many vacations camping, which would become a regular family activity. Fishing, fishing and more fishing while also going to local flea markets as part of the fun.
Donna was a devout Christian. She loved her Lord and Savior with every part of her heart and soul. She attended church, many women's conferences and retreats where she met some wonderful people who became not just friends but family. She lived her life living by scripture. Each day when she would wake, she would tell herself "I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength" Philippians 4:13, her absolute favorite scripture.
Donna was promoted to the title of Grammy by gaining 14 grandkids who would bless her with becoming a Great Grammy (aka Grammy with the pink hair) to 14 great grandkids, with 2 more on the way.
Donna is survived by her husband, Jay, sons: Geoff (Lisa), Mark (Heather) and Donnie (Tara) and stepdaughter, Melinda. Her brothers Ron & Rod.
