Donna Colleen Schutte

Donna Colleen (Rarick) Schutte left this earth on August 14, 2023. She died peacefully at her home, surrounded by her children. She was born on April 13, 1940, in Twin Falls, Idaho to Piner “Pete” and Dorothy Rarick. She was a great-granddaughter to local early pioneers Herman and Lucy Stricker. She said growing up spending Christmas at the at the Stricker House were some of her favorite memories. When Colleen was a sophomore, her family moved from Hansen to the Hazelton area where Colleen graduated from Valley  High School in 1958. It was during her school years at Valley High School she met Forrest G. Johnson. She married Forrest on July 11, 1958. They were married for 27 years. During the 1970s Colleen started modeling for The Mayfair, a local store downtown. She also worked at The Paris and Macy’s selling cosmetics. She then started her own business selling Bare Essentials Make up as an esthetician at her daughter Tamara Makin’s hair salon.

Colleen is preceded in death by her parents, Piner “Pete” Rarick, Dorothy Rarick, and her younger brother Phillip Rarick. She is survived by her younger sister, Shirley Jean (Kenny) Peterson, her children Tamara (Mark) Makin, Curtis Johnson, and Mark (Jill) Johnson, six grand children and nine great-grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held on August 26, 2023 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at Rosenau Funeral Home & Crematory, 2826 Addison Avenue East, Twin Falls, ID  83301.
