Donna Swainston Claiborne, 95 of Twin Falls passed away Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Rosetta Assisted Living. Donna was born November 14, 1918 in Whitney, ID the third child of Milo Swainston and Myrtle Jenkens Swainston. She had two sisters and three brothers. Donna married Arnold Claiborne on May 16, 1935 and to that union was born six children; Irene, Joyce, Virginia, Jean, Lee and David. She was a lifelong active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served in many different callings. Donna enjoyed spending time with her family, whether working on the farm or on hunting and fishing trips. The Claiborne family lived in Tuttle, ID where they operated a large farm and milked a herd of cows. In 1959 they built and operated the Dairy Queen Drive-In in Gooding, ID. When they retired they moved to Twin Falls and enjoyed visiting with family and friends. Donna was preceded in death by her husband Arnold, and her parents, sister Thelma Shawver, and three brothers; Arelious, Albert, and Morris; a daughter Virginia Walker, son David Claiborne; two grandsons, Steven Stringer and Bruce Molony. She is survived by one sister, Clara dean Lewis of Ammon, ID and three daughters and one son; Irene (Jack) Nelson of Sun Lakes, AZ, Joyce (La Rae) Stringer, Lee (Vonnie) Claiborne and Jean Harper all of Twin Falls, ID. Funeral services will be held May 7, 2014 at 11:00am at Rosenau Funeral Home, 2826 Addison Ave. E., Twin Falls, ID. A viewing from 10:30-11:00Am will be held prior to the services.
