Derrick R. Lingnaw, 56, passed away October 2, 2021, in Idaho Falls, ID, after a stroke and accompanying heart complications were brought on by a logging accident in Challis, ID.
Derrick was born April 21, 1965, to Richard “Dick” and Nedra Lingnaw in Twin Falls, ID. He was raised in Twin Falls, alongside his sister, Stacy, where he learned to appreciate the outdoors and how to work for what he wanted. He graduated from Twin Falls High School in 1983.
Derrick gave his all to everything he did, and never stopped being a hard worker. He was skilled in many different trades and used more elbow grease than many would ever consider. His love for the outdoors only flourished over the years, and he was always happiest fishing, hunting, camping, and eating good food. In his younger years, he especially loved running the Middle Fork of the Salmon River with friends and family.
He met the love of his life and best friend, Carma Earl, in 2008, and the two were married for 12.5 years. They were always embarking on new adventures together and loved to kick back with a few cold drinks, and a couple of smokes, after a long day.
Derrick’s rough-around-the-edges persona was lovingly contrasted by his extremely good heart and a smile so big it made his eyes squint. Most of all, Derrick loved spending time with his family. His deep, full-hearted laugh will be missed by each of them.
Derrick is survived by his mother, Nedra Lingnaw; wife, Carma Lingnaw; sister, Stacy (Byron) Wood; daughter, April Hill; stepchildren, including Alisha Mcdrummond; grandsons, Andre Dabney and Kyrie Palmer, as well as nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, and stepfamily. He was proceeded in death by both sets of grandparents and his father, Richard Lingnaw.
