April 1, 2014 Delmus Lyle of Kimberly is now with his young and pretty wife, Jean, who has been gone so many years. Also his son, Charles, his mother & stepfather, Lottie and Oscar Lofburg. His sister and her husband Opal and Villard Blevins and his father who died when he was 2. Many other relatives and friends. From covered wagon to cars, planes and space ships, he saw many changes. He enjoyed his computer and kept current on things right up the end. His Christian faith was important to him. He taught us the importance of love, the value of compassion, to treat others with kindness and an open heart. He was a very gentle man with a great sense of humor. During World War II, he served with the Seabees, Co. B, 7th U. S. Naval Construction Battalion. He was a carpenter and farmer. He owned and operated the first grape vineyard in the Columbia Basin at Winchester, Washington. He leaves his loving wife of 46 years, Lois and her son, Greg Garrett. His daughter & husband, Donna & Max Alumbaugh, 4 grandsons, David Alumbaugh & wife, Camille, Roger Alumbaugh & wife , Sharon, Bruce Alumbaugh & wife Valerie, Jock Lyle, and granddaughter, Carolyn Lyle. 11 great grandchildren & 6 great-great grand children. There will be no large funeral as Del wants everyone to remember him as he was enjoying his wonderful 100th Birthday celebration at Kimberly Methodist Church July 16, 2013. Grave side services will be held Friday, April 4 at 10:00 am at the Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, Twin Falls, Idaho. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers of Magic Valley, Inc. or Hospice Visions. Arrangements are under the direction of Rosenau Funeral Home.
