Della Flo Brooks was born January 6, 1924 to Harve and Virgie Edwards in Musselshell, Montana. She was the baby sister of six brothers and two sisters. She was affectionately dubbed “sister” by the entire family. Della married Jack R. Brooks on a stormy winter day in Burley, Idaho on February 7, 1941. To this union three children were born, Beverly, Joe and Dennis. Mom worked hard all her life at a variety of jobs. She worked for Crowley Drugstore, Soran Cello Packaging, the Mode O Day, Fashion Crossroads and Sears. Mom loved music and liked to dance. She also loved watching the rodeo. Mom, Dad and two other couples – the Calverts & Lytles started in the early 1960’s building a place at Magic Reservoir for the family. This was a special place for picnics; bar’b-que’s and parties for family and friends with the occasional cold beer. They started it and the family has added to their little oasis in the desert. Mom has not been able to go up there for several years but with pictures and stories it is in her heart. “Her Magic House”. Della is preceded in death by her parents Harve and Virgie Edwards and siblings, Roy, Delmar, Ralph, Joe, Lou, Herb, Mable and Clarice. She is also preceded in death by her husband Jack and son in law David Denton. She is survived by her children Beverly Denton of Twin Falls, Joe and Dena Brooks of Meridian and Dennis and Carolyn Brooks of Nampa; her grandchildren, David and Lori Denton, Susan and Steve Klein, Michelle Feldtman, and Stephanie Jones; her great grandchildren, Christina, Ashley, Hannah, Hilary, Amber, Britni, Mikaelah, and Cooper, and great great grandchildren, Jason, Karee, Tristin, Braydyn, Kristen, David and Cristos. A special thanks to Dr. Lisa Burgett for all she has done for Mom over the years and to the people at Twin Falls Care Center for their care of her over the last year. At Mom’s request there will be a family gathering and her ashes will be scattered at her beloved “Magic House”. Mom left us for a world free of pain – like a beautiful butterfly with frosted wings; she took flight into the warm air with the gentle guide of a soft summer breeze. Though we have tears in our hearts we will smile because she is flying high. Cremation is under the direction of Rosenau Funeral Home & Crematory. Memories can be shared at www.rosenaufuneralhome.com
