David Alton Black, 68, passed away after a short battle with lung cancer on Monday, October 10, 2016 at his home in Twin Falls, ID. He was born on August 23, 1948 in Reno, NV to Alton and Myrth Black. Dave graduated from Twin Falls High School in 1966. In 1968 he met and married the love of his life, Peggy Hart; and together they raised three children; son Paul (Amber) Black of Boise, ID, daughter Ann (Mike) Metzler of Twin Falls, ID, and son Zachary (Jennifer) Black of Las Vegas, NV. Dave worked as a general contractor for many years and had his own residential and commercial construction company, Dave Black Construction. Dave loved being outdoors, camping, gardening, and just sitting on the deck. He had a good sense of humor and was well liked by many. He enjoyed spending time with his family including many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, numerous nieces and nephews and many others he considered family. He was a much loved husband, father, grandfather, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend. He is survived by his wife, Peggy, their three children, and ten grandchildren; David James Black, Jacob Black, T'kayah Bell, Treyton Bell, Nicholas Maxim, Nikiesha Metzler, Macey Metzler, Kaydence Black, Ava Black, and Memphis Black. He was preceded in death by his parents Alton and Myrth Black. The family would like to thank Visions Hospice and Dr. Narasimhan and staff for their care. Funeral services will be held at Rosenau Funeral Home on Saturday October 15, 2016 at 11:00 am with a visitation for family and friends starting at 10 am. Interment will follow the services at the Twin Falls Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Rosenau Funeral Home.
