Charles G. Ewing

October 30, 1930 — January 10, 2012

"Chuck" Charles G. Ewing went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 10th, 2012 with his immediate family by his bedside. He was born on October 30th, 1930 to Chester and Delcie Ewing in Sedgwick, CO. He attended school at Lucern through the 8th grade and graduated from Buhl High School in 1948. He joined the U.S. Navy on January 9th, 1951 and attended boot camp in San Diego, CA. He served aboard the destroyer escort USS Wiseman of the 7th Fleet in Korean waters. After serving four years in the U.S. Navy he was honorably discharged on October 20th, 1954. He met Mildred "Max" Winkle at a Christmas dance while on leave in 1950. They were married on June 21st, 1953 in Twin Falls, ID at the Lutheran Church. She followed him to San Diego and Long Beach, CA until his discharge. They then moved to Buhl, ID where he farmed and raised his family. During his lifetime he enjoyed motorcycles, horses, and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Mildred "Max" Ewing; his children Steven (Kathy) Ewing, Peggy (Jason) Smith, Dennis (Christine) Ewing; grandchildren Ray (Angela) Ewing, Rachel Pereira, Justin Smith, Jacob (Noelle) Smith, Chelsia (Jonathon) Gomez; great-grandchildren Allie Ewing, Tyler, Elijah, and Madison Pereira; one brother Ronald (Janice) Ewing and many nephews, nieces, and cousins. Memorial services with military honors will be held on Friday, January 13th, 2012 at the First Church of the Nazarene in Twin Falls, ID at 4:00 p.m. Viewing will be held Thursday, January 12th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Rosenau Funeral Home. There will be a private graveside service. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301 Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301 in memory of "Chuck" Charles G. Ewing. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the doctors and staff at the Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, UT who cared for him.
