Charles Keith Dennis died May 2 at his home in Hollister, Idaho, of leukemia.
He was born March 2,1946 in Wendell, Idaho to Burr and Celestia Dennis and was named Charles after his grandfather. Although he loved his grandfather, he hated to be called by his first name. He was always Keith.
He grew up in Montana and Idaho, and attended Twin Falls schools. He married Pamela Morrison, who he had met while a student at Twin Falls High, and they had a daughter, Colleen. Keith and Pam eventually divorced. Keith later married Pattie Mills.
Keith was happiest outside spending time camping, hunting and fishing. His
friends and family spent many wonderful hours with him in the desert and hills
of Southern Idaho and Northern Nevada doing everything from riding motorcycles
(later four wheelers) to telling tall tales by the campfire.
He worked for Salmon River Canal Company in Hollister for over 30 years, and had just retired in February as Maintenance Foreman. He loved his job, it meant he got to spend even more time outdoors.
Getting to enjoy his retirement fishing in the sun was just not meant to be. He was a wonderful person with a great sense of humor and we will miss him very much.
..
Keith is survived by his wife Pattie of Hollister, daughter, Colleen (Brad) Brenton of Boise, stepsons Shon Porter of Mountain Green, Utah and Josh Mills of Twin Falls; grandchildren Tim Weyer and Rory Brenton of Boise and Jasmine Porter of Mountain Green, Utah, brother Wayne (Ann) Dennis of Buhl, sisters Nelma (Paul) Plante of Boise, Clara (George) Kimpton of Twin Falls and his cousins who were like siblings, Truman (Dixie) Dennis, Gary (Carol) Dennis of Twin Falls and Wilda Lehmann of Wendell, as well as a number of dearly loved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held for Keith on Saturday, May 7 at 2 p.m. at Rosenau Funeral Home in Twin Falls.
