Casey John Dessel, 35 of Twin Falls passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family. Casey was born January 17, 1977 in Burley the son Larry and Tammy Renz Dessel. He attended school at Minico High School where he played basketball and soccer. Casey attended the College of Southern Idaho graduating with an AA in Secondary Education. Casey served five years in the Army where he was a Military Police Officer. He married Amber Morfin on August 20, 2005 at Shoshone Falls. Casey had been a coach for Minico and Twin Falls High Schools in Boys and Girls basketball and girls softball. He also worked for the BLM as a wildland firefighter. Casey loved playing with kids and hanging at home with our family. He was a big sports fan of the Yankees and the Dallas Cowboys. ESPN was his news. Casey also loved reading his Bible and having his devotions daily. He was a member of the River Christian Fellowship in Twin Falls and had grown up in the Paul Congregational Church. Casey is survived by his wife Amber N. Dessel, his five children Saiera, Krystan, Nadia, Kendra, and Slade; siblings Randie (Charles) Stewmann, Brawley (Jordon) Williams, Sheree Dessel and Kaleb “Bubba” Dessel; his grandparents Alta Mae and Elma Ketterling and Barbara Dessel as well as a ton of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers Jake “Poppy” Renz and Lawrence Dessel. The family suggests donation be made to the Casey Dessel Memorial Fund, C/O any Wells Fargo branch. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, April 9, 2012 at the River Christian Fellowship church with Pastor Bryan Bacon officiating. A viewing for Casey will held on Monday from 10:00-10:45 AM at the church. Burial will be in the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery in Boise. Arrangements are under the direction of Rosenau Funeral Home.
