Carol Louise Brutke

May 16, 1941 — October 30, 2016

Carol Louise Bowlin Brutke, age 75, Twin Falls, Idaho, passed away peacefully of natural causes on Sunday, October 30, 2016. Louise was born May 16, 1941 in Twin Falls, Idaho, to Clarence Henry Bowlin Sr. and Frances Irene McRoberts Wright . She was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Brutke Sr.; parents and step-parents Clarence Henry Bowlin Sr. (Grace), Frances McRoberts Wright (Bill), her sister in-law Karen Opheim, and her in-laws Bob and Naomi Brutke. She is survived by her siblings, Irene Bradshaw (Kevin), Becky Watson (Clint), Sonny Bowlin (Kenna), Terrily Brutke, brother-in-law Larry Opheim, Richard Brutke (Claire) and Eve Nickerson. She married her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, Lonnie Brutke Sr. on July 31, 1959 in Hazelton, Idaho. Louise and Lonnie were Active Duty in the United States Marine Corps for 13 years. Louise was a proud and dedicated Officer's Wife. She gave birth to 4 daughters and 1 son between the years 1960 and 1971. Louise is survived by her five children: Teena Brutke, Tessie Pharris (Russell), Lonette Brutke, Lori Brutke, Lonnie Brutke Jr. (Kim), and her 11 grandchildren: Lindsey Bastar (Tony), Kade Sirucek, Blake Pharris, Jessica Pharris, Jennifer Weiss (Ryan), Emily Brown, Elizabeth Brown, Hannah Mikesell, Kyle Brutke, Tyler Brutke, and Kelsie Brutke. Louise has 4 great grandchildren: Braeden Pharris, Sawyer Bastar, Dawsen Bastar, and Bridger Bastar. Louise is loved by numerous nephews and nieces, cousins and extended family. Upon returning to Hazelton, Idaho, after the Marine Corps (1971), Louise felt proud and privileged to be a mother and homemaker while helping Lonnie with their Brutke Construction business. They purchased Snake River Metal with Lonnie Jr. in 1998 and moved to Filer shortly thereafter to be closer to their work. Louise was a beautiful, kind, and gentle woman, generous with her love, she nurtured her husband, children, siblings, grandchildren, and kept her home in sparkling condition. She was a woman of another generation and always her family came first. Her loyalty was to them. She was feisty and could be quite wise. You were never smart to underestimate her, for underneath her calm exterior beat a pure heart and a mind that was fully aware of what the world was about. She was the center of her family. She brought grace and a kind of elegance into a world that is far from perfect. She will be missed, but not forgotten. May God hold her now as she has held us. Services will be held Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Rosenau's Funeral Home, 2826 Addison Ave. E. Twin Falls, Idaho, at 5:00 pm.
