Butch Hatch

November 30, 1967 — July 22, 2015

BUTCH HATCH - a cherished and beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and son; passed away peacefully from this life to life everlasting on Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at the age of 47. Butch was born November 30, 1967, in California. He was born to Fred and Brenda Hatch. Butch was an energetic, bright, red-headed little boy. He learned to channel that energy as a young adult by working a paper route, and other various summer jobs. This developed the strong work ethic that he carried throughout the rest of his life. Butch graduated from Twin Falls High School in 1986. He later married his high school sweetheart, Shelley Sommer in 1987 and they were married for 28 years. Butch's pride and joy were his three sons. He loved to take them skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, camping, hiking, hunting, fishing, and various road trips. Later as the boys became young adults he loved to show them how to work on cars and other various projects that needed to be done. Butch was always full of energy, so while everyone else was resting, Butch would play tennis and mountain bike. Years later Butch purchased a tandem mountain bike and convinced his wife Shelley to ride on the mountain trails that he had travelled for over 20 years. This new adventure on the tandem mountain bike turned out to be their favorite sport to enjoy together. Butch will be truly missed by all that knew him. He was always upbeat no matter what life brought his way. Butch taught his wife and boys many things over the years. He encouraged them to be strong, contributing members of society, to look for positive intent in all situations, and to most importantly love each other unconditionally. Butch is preceded in death by his grandparents Vandella Armstrong, Bud Ballard, Fred and Audrey Hatch, his uncle Eddy Ballard, his aunt Opal Hopson and his baby brother Eric Wade Hatch. He is survived by his wife Shelley Hatch; his three sons Thomas Hatch, Timothy (Kaylee) Hatch, Tyson Hatch and his grandson Jayden Hatch; his mother Brenda Gritter, his father Fred Hatch, his brothers and sisters: Trina Espinosa, Robert Heller, Kurt Hatch, Jared Hatch, Tamra Switzer and Danielle Hatch. A celebration of life in Butch's memory will be held Friday, July 31, 2015, at Noon at Life Church, 3225 E. Commercial Ct., Meridian, ID. Private burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Park, Twin Falls, ID. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, gift donations be made to Butch's favorite charities, The Idaho Food Bank: 3562 S. TK Avenue, Boise, ID 83705 or Life's Kitchen: 1025 S.
