Bessie Lucille (Frey) Clover, 95 passed away at her home in Nampa, Idaho. She was born on September 10, 1919 in Emerson, Iowa. Bessie came to Idaho with her parents in 1935 and lived on the Salmon Tract, and in Buhl and Filer, Idaho. She and her sisters attended the First Church of the Nazarene in Twin Falls as young adults. She graduated from Hollister High School. During WWII she and her sisters Ruby and Anna sang on a local Twin Falls radio station. She also had a small business repairing silk stockings for local women during the war because silk was so highly coveted by the military for parachutes. In the spring of 1943, Bessie and her sister Ruby left Idaho to work for the San Bernardino Air Service Command in California doing clerking for the Army Air Corps in the airplane parts department. She married John Walter Clover on March 23, 1954 in Twin Falls, Idaho by Rev. W. Elton Greene. After marrying, they made their home in Twin Falls, ID; Pomona, CA; Seattle, WA and Nampa, ID. She worked at Sears and Singer Sewing Center in Twin Falls where she taught sewing and also worked at Kings Garden in Seattle, WA. Bessie kept the books for John’s and her’s auto repair business; John’s Garage in Nampa. She worked at the Bon Marche` at the Karcher Mall in Nampa from the time the store opened in 1973 and was the back bone of the china and gifts department until she retired in 1994. Bessie loved reading and sewing. She also made the best pies in the world and was lovingly known as “The Pie Lady” by family and friends. She is survived by her husband John Clover of Nampa, Idaho; two daughters Debra Clover and Sandra Clover both of Nampa, Idaho; four grandchildren Brian, Mindy, Ashley and Jessica; ten great grandchildren Kayla; Brianna, Lexius, Santana, Aaliyah, Joey, Michael, Tyson, Andrew and Ashlyn. Bessie is also survived by two sisters Ruby Helvey of Twin Falls and Beulah Fisher of St. Charles, Missouri; two sister in-laws Juanita Frey of Buhl and Teddy Frey of Buhl and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Homer R. Frey and Lou Ella (Denton) Frey; two sisters Anna Harris and Blanche Beezley; two brothers Herman and Floyd Frey and two nephews Nick and Jack Frey. A celebration of Life Open House will be held on Wednesday July 29, 2015 at Rosenau Funeral Home, 2826 Addison Ave E Twin Falls, ID 83301 from 1-3 pm. Arrangements are under the direction of Rosenau Funeral Home, Twin Falls.
