Barry Allen Howsden of Buhl, Idaho passed away at home on February 16, 2021 after an extended illness. He was born on March 2, 1947 in Gooding, Idaho to Marshall Howsden and Marie Braga Howsden.
After graduating from Wendell High School, he attended college for a while but quickly realized that the open road was calling and off he went in his VW Bus, working his way across the country and back. He and Sandi Gates (of Wendell, Idaho) married and together they raised their two children, Rocky and Heidi in Twin Falls, Idaho. They later divorced.
Barry married Charlene Kennedy Maxton and she embraced his love of the outdoors and travel and they had many adventures in their years together including an unforgettable trip riding their motorcycles along the Alaskan Highway.
He was a very hard-working man in all he did. He was a lineman and highline patrolman with Idaho Power for over 30 years, he served in the Idaho National Guard and was an active leader in the Boy Scouts (he sure loved those 50 milers hiking in the Sawtooth Mountains!). Barry was a member of the First Christian Church.
He is survived by his loving wife, Charlene, his brother John Howsden (Evelyn) of Wendell, Idaho, daughter Heidi Hartman (Pete) of Boise, Idaho and son Rocky Howsden (Veronica) of San Antonio Texas. His granddaughters Brooke Casey (Tyler) and Sharlee Emery as well as his family by marriage, Chad and Pam Maxton, Jerrilene and Ivan Smith, Charla and David Hiatt and Leah (Caleb), Jon, Charilyn, Maxton, Ivy, Kyle, Andrew and Nathan.
