Sunday, the world lost a great father, husband, teacher, brother, and friend. Andrew “Andy” Nauman of Twin Falls, passed away suddenly December 13, 2015, at the age of 49.
Andy was born August 17, 1966 in Twin Falls Idaho, the son of George “T” and Nanette Nauman. Andy attended school in Kimberly, graduating in 1984. Upon graduation Andy attended the College of Southern Idaho where Andy graduated with an Associate’s degree in Education. Andy furthered his education at Boise State University where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Education.
Andy’s first job as an educator was with Hansen Elementary School. Andy went on to teach in Boise, Middleton, and Twin Falls. Andy began teaching at Jerome in 2003 where he has been teaching ever since. Andy was a true educator and mentor, putting his students’ needs first. He was devoted to and deeply loved his Summit family. Andy further contributed to young lives through his passion for coaching focusing not only on skills but building self-confidence in his young athletes.
Andy’s younger years were spent mastering American Kenpo karate and spent countless hours training in Jujitsu, Judo, Escrima, and has built a lasting relationship with the martial art community. The last several years he has found his second home with ‘The Pack’ CrossFit family. In which he coached mentored and trained young and older athletes. Andy’s love for fitness has touched many lives.
Friends and family were his zest for life. His circle of friends provided him a much needed balance in his busy life. He was a true friend and there when anyone ever needed him.
Andy met and married the love of his life, Jennifer, in 2000. Their children Jonas (JT) and Isabella (Bella), were the light of their lives. Quality family time was so important and built upon daily in the Nauman’s lives. Biking, working out, running, and experiencing the great outdoors were just a few of the activities they loved to do. Andy and Jenny have built a strong foundation for their children to enable them to pursue their dreams and be the best they can be.
Andy’s happy place will always be with friends and family, Redfish Lake, a camp fire, fresh air and a dog or two.
Andy is survived by his wife Jenny, his two children Jonas and Bella, his father T, his two sisters Teresa (Alan) and Sue, friends, and numerous young minds. Andy was preceded in death by his mother Nanette.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday December 19, 2015 at 11:00 am at Lighthouse Christian Fellowship church. A gathering will follow the service at 132 Main Ave N. Twin Falls. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Jonas and Bella college fund and/or The Nauman Underprivileged Youth Sports Fund at any First Federal Bank branch.
