Allen Gene Frith

Our beloved dad, husband and friend, Allen Gene Frith passed away peacefully at home with family by his side on August 26, 2024, at the age of 82. 

Allen was born in Riverside, California on January 11, 1942, and grew up and lived in Southern California. He met and married the love of his life, Rita, in June of 1973, combining their two households into one loving family. Their family included Allen’s two sons, Allen Jr. and Richard, and Rita’s three children, Melodie, Mark, and Melissa. Allen is survived by his loving wife Rita, his sons Allen Jr. and Mark, daughter Melissa, 14 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren, and his two brothers, Melvin and Milton Matthews as well as numerous loving nephews and nieces. 

Allen enjoyed working on cars with his friend Pete, travelling with Rita, and spending time with loved ones. He enjoyed watching football, and Wheel of Fortune during the week and you could be sure to find him watching Lawrence Welk on Sunday nights with his love, Rita. He adored all animals, and they loved him, especially his favorite dog, Shelly, but also including neighborhood stray chickens and cats that would make the family farm their home. He loved sitting outside under a shaded fruit tree, watching the wildlife at his beloved home in Twin Falls, ID. 

Allen worked for San Bernardino County until he retired, and Rita moved to Twin Falls, Idaho, in 1990, where he worked for the Twin Falls School District in maintenance until his second retirement. He could fix anything and could always be found working on a small motor, rebuilding something or tinkering in his shop. His sharp wit, and the mischievous twinkle in his eye will be greatly missed. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, uncle and brother and was loved by his family and friends. 

A memorial and celebration of life will be held Saturday, September 7, 2024, at 1:00pm at Rosenau Funeral Home, 2826 Addison Ave. E, Twin Falls, ID.
