Prior to retirement, Albert worked in the welding supply business, in Twin Falls, Idaho, Kennewick, Washington and Phoenix, Arizona. While living in Kennewick, Albert opened his own sporting goods store, "The Sports Shack". The family has fond memories of working with him there.
Albert was an avid fisherman, gardener, and golfer, and spent countless hours camping with family and friends. He built many happy memories teaching his children and grandchildren how to fish, and engaging in various outdoor activities.
Although, fishing was a great source of relaxation, it was art that was his source of inspiration. Kay relied on his artistic eye to help her pick out colors when she was designing quilts. Albert painted and sketched, and had just completed a special sketch of Pastor Steve, the night before he passed away.
Albert had a great sense of humor and tenderness. He instilled fun in the lives of his sons and grandkids with his jokes and teasing….some on the verge of being traumatic! His random acts of romance led to fresh cut flowers for his wife, a tradition that he extended to his daughter and daughter-in-laws during visits. He left this earth with fresh cut flowers sitting on the table as a last gift to his wife.
Albert loved his schnauzers! These high energy, high maintenance dogs delighted him. His doggie kids, Francie (deceased), Eddie (deceased), and Rooney.
Albert was a man of deep commitment to his family, church, and community. The first Saturday of every month, he could be found cooking for the men's bible study at the church. Albert was an excellent cook, and was famous for his breakfasts. The LWML knew they could count on his help when serving at church events. Albert was always willing to lend a hand to family and friends, he was a hard worker and could be counted on to whip your yard into shape, carry moving boxes, set up tables and chairs, whatever it was, he'd help you get the job done!

"Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. According to the Lord's word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage one another with these words." 1 Thessalonians 4 :13-18
"I remain confident of this:
I will see the goodness of the Lord
in the land of the living." Psalm 27: 13
