Mike Roundy, a 60 year resident of Ketchum Idaho, passed away January 1, 2025, after a brief illness. Mike was born December 14, 1942, in Wendell Idaho, to Lauren and Nettie Roundy. He grew up in Mindoka, and graduated from Minico High School. Mike attended business school in Twin Falls and then moved to Ketchum in 1963, where he worked at Sun Valley Lodge for more than 40 years.
Mike met his wife Phyllis Houk while living in Ketchum, and together they operated the Bald Mountain Hot Springs Lodge for many years.
Mike had a lifelong passion for travel. He and his late wife Phyllis, had many adventures spanning all seven continents. One of their most memorable trips was to Antarctica.
Mike was a devoted husband, wonderful brother, uncle and friend. He was kind, generous, funny and will be deeply missed.
Mike was preceded in death by his wife and soulmate Phyllis, his parents, Lauren and Nettie Roundy, brothers Lyle, Jack, Dennis and Lee Roundy, sisters Thelma Schumacher, Wanda Paulson and Shirley Hilyard. Mike is survived by sisters Peggy Ripley of Twin Falls ID, Joann Hill of Klamath Falls OR, niece Joice Eld and husband Jeff of McCall ID, and numerous other nieces and nephews.
